Glaucoma a disease affecting the optic nerve that initially reduces your peripheral vision. With time, in advanced cases of glaucoma, the central vision may be affected as well. Glaucoma is usually caused by high pressure in the eye, which slowly damages the optic nerve. Researchers believe it is caused by both a mechanical and vascular problem.
